1. What does art mean to me?

As a woman who uses her body to make art, whether through dance, performance, movement, or gesture—I’m not just expressing something. I’m becoming something. Art becomes a language where words fail. It means I’m vulnerable, but also powerful. My art is alive. ~ Sydney 

2. Have I ever done something like this before?

The most similar thing I have done to this would be when I have modeled nude for artists who paint and draw. I prefer to use my body modeling to make something more visually challenging to interpret as oppose to just taking photos of a pretty face. ~ Sydney 

3. How did I feel after seeing these images

I absolutely loved the result. My initial reaction was surprise because in the moment modeling this series I couldn’t envision what the final result would be, especially while contorting my body but with results like these, I felt very empowered and would love to do more work like this for other artists. ~ Sydney
